A great new book by Cheryl Bradshaw...

Disclaimer: I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I am a fan of Cheryl’s Sloane Monroe series so I was excited to read this new book. I was not disappointed.
The book begins 15 years in the past when Quinn and Evie first become friends. Fast forward to present times when Quinn is faced with dealing with the death of her dearest and closest friend. She makes a vow to find Evie’s killer… no matter what it takes.
The story follows Quinn as she returns home… she is faced with her fractured relationships with her sister, Astrid and with her old boyfriend, Bo, who is now a detective working on the case as well as dealing with Evie’s eccentric grandmother, Ruby. Twists and turns keep the reader guessing until the end when the truth is revealed.
I liked the book… it was well written and kept my interest. I like mysteries so I had my own ideas as to whom the murderer might be and I enjoyed following Quinn’s search for justice. It was a quick read.. and one you will want to keep reading just to see how it ends. The book ends in a rather open ended way so I was left to wonder if more books are planned for Quinn.

A page turning must read. Read it in 2 days!!

This book was awesome!! I'm not a fast reader & I can usually read a couple chapters then put the book down. I devoured this book in 2 days. This book kept me guessing all the way through. I thought I had the killer figured out a couple different times. But I found out I was wrong at the end. I never guessed the killer till I was told. Definitely a page turner for me. I loved the way the characters were intertwined with each other & there is a romance also. Quinn & Bo were great & even had some parts that brought a smile or chuckle. But the mystery was something only Cheryl Bradshaw could master!! If your looking for a book you can sink your teeth into & enjoy to the very last page. This is the one!!

Great Mystery

I’m a fan of Cheryl Bradshaw’s Sloane Monroe series and was excited to read this stand alone. This too was a great book with characters that were very likable and well developed. The characters were a bit reminiscent of one of Bradshaw’s other books I’d recently read, but the plot was like nothing she’s written before. Quinn Montgomery wakes from an accident after hearing the news of her best friend’s death. Finding that it was actually a murder, she makes a promise to herself to find out who the killer is and make them pay. Quinn returns home to her small town to investigate and finds many distractions in her old friends, her parents, and her estranged sister, which only add to the complications of finding her best friend’s killer. This book had me suspecting every person in the tiny town until the killer was finally revealed in a murderous showdown. Another suspenseful book by Bradshaw.

THE PACK IN ILLINOIS is the story of Blue Rivers and her entrée into a brand new world she never knew existed. Blue has been having issues with anxiety and depression since her parents split up. Now her ex-boyfriend is stalking her, her grandmother is deathly ill, and her best friend has been ignoring her for a long time. When her best friend rescues her she meets the one person who makes her feel alive and happy again – Rider Hayde. Yet, she’s in for new adventures and new threats as she becomes part of Rider’s world. THE PACK IN ILLINOIS has some flaws: spelling errors, grammatical issues, etc. The ending is also very abrupt, but it reminded me of the part one end of a two part television episode. The overall writing is good and I see a lot of promise for this author’s future works. Happily, I was drawn into the story enough to overlook some of the flaws. THE PACK IN ILLINOIS appears to be the beginning of what could become a very strong trilogy/series.

Christie's Christmas is Charming

Christie's Christmas is the story of a girl of twelve who in one short day changes many around her. And over the coming months we learn of what her kindness, generosity of spirit and friendly behavior brings in return. It's a great book.

Christie was born on Christmas day. For her 12th birthday she is given a train ticket to visit her wealthy relative in a town some 20 miles distant. Her younger brother is ten and a bit envious of the trip. He takes milk with the Dad to the train station each day so is familiar with the trains. Still, he wishes he were the elder brother and getting this opportunity.

Funds are very tight!

This book was recommended at the end of a Grace Livingston Hill story. It features a girl and rather reminds me of a younger female version of the Horatio Alger stories I so love. The young lady is a Christian and simply does what she thinks is correct. She is very kind but not too saccharine .

Christie struggles.

As a result of her quick actions she saves a life. She takes care of a baby and cheers the grumpy guy who is late. Prayer is mentioned and religion does play a part in making her a better individual. For young ladies I suspect this is just the ticket for a happy read. It's a chapter book and one I'd have read my own duo had I been aware of it when they were younger.

Recommended, especially for little girls. The girl is a true heroine and you'll like her. I did!

Thorough and readable book for the developing clinician and others who work with people who stutter.

This is a thorough and readable book designed for the emerging clinician. The author speaks from the point of view of a person who stutters as well as one well read in the research surrounding cause, nature and treatment of stuttering.

I would be interested to hear from families of and people who stutter to see if this book is an appropriate, in-depth, resource for them as well.

The content itself in this book is very interesting and helpful in learning about how to assess and treat stuttering. However, my only complaint Is that all of the figures in the book were not printed out well. All of the images are fuzzy and texxt is blurry so it makes it difficult to read.
